We welcome you to apply to our 2025 mini summer day camp! The camp will be an arts and music collaboration in partnership with Shaheed and DJ Supreme. at K.R.U. (Knowledge, Rhythm, and Understanding) bringing visual arts, music, and movement together for a sensory friendly experience. We will have a rotation of activities, breaks, and group activities planned by staff and visiting artists.

->July 21st & 22nd for ages 10-15
->July 23rd & 24th for ages 16+ between 9am-3pm.
*Drop off will be between 8:45-9am
*Pickup will be between 3-3:15pm.
BEFORE YOU APPLY:
To ensure that we are able to meet the needs of all the artists, please be sure that youth parents/caregivers and participants agree to the following:
-> Participants must be 10+ years of age
-> Participants must have a strong desire to create and be willing to try new processes
-> Participants must have their own transportation, and their parents/caregivers/transportation must be available to drop them off between 8:45-9:00am and pick them up each camp day between 3:3:15pm. We will have a sign-in sheet and sign-out sheet that will need to be signed each day, where ID will be verified. Please note if you need another pick-up name noted.
-> Participants must be comfortable in a group setting of 10+ people including students and staff. Repeated disruptive, unsafe, or bullying behavior that is not conducive to our community space cannot be accommodated.
-> Participants must be able to attend to their own basic needs (restroom, etc) (unless accompanied by a caregiver able to be present onsite but outside the classroom space).
-> Please pack any sensory aides, technology, or communication devices the student may need to feel more comfortable. Anything that you feel may be helpful to them and safe to bring. Keep in mind we are in a community art studio and will try our best to ensure a welcoming, safe, and comfortable environment but cannot be held liable if anything is damaged in the space.
-> Accepted students are invited to attend free of charge, as this 1st pilot camp experience has been funded by grants, sponsorships, and local support.
